Have any of you had any success with measuring AI adoption in your companies? If so, what was the metric you used for determination? Specifically looking to see if there is a difference in adoption rates across generations.
The most reliable metric Dow tracks is the % of employees who request a Microsoft Copilot license. I don't know that they've looked at it through a generational lens though, just across all employees. Other more technical uses of AI that are less widely used may have other metrics attached but this is the only one I know of at the company level.
I'm late replying ... similar to Dow, Deere is measuring Copilot usage level. Levels are "Near Daily (3+ times per week)", "Weekly", and "Monthly."
The generally available dashboard has org hierarchy and location dimensions. Our "Near Daily" users have gone from 5% of the user population to 55% since January.
HR is looking at a couple of possible metrics for 2026 focused on AI-centric solution usage within HR. This isn't yet nailed down.
